Washington, D.C.– In response to the Biden Administration issuing an executive order on data centers, the League of Conservation Voters released the following statement from Vice President of Federal Policy, Matthew Davis:
“Data centers have already driven up energy costs for families and increased climate and air pollution that harms communities across the country. The Biden-Harris administration executive order directs development in the right direction – towards the fastest, cheapest and cleanest energy – that from clean renewable energy sources like wind, solar, and geothermal. As underscored in the order released today, these data centers must also undergo the same environmental review as other projects, and should seek to minimize impacts to the surrounding environment and communities and safeguard the environmental progress of the Biden-Harris administration.”
