Washington, D.C.– In response to the release of the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act of 2026, the League of Conservation Voters released the following statement from Senior Vice President of Government Affairs, Sara Chieffo:
“This is significant and complex legislation and we will be taking the time to analyze and understand its full impacts, including by consulting with stakeholders most impacted by the bill. We will be assessing whether and how it enables our ability to significantly and rapidly scale affordable clean energy solutions, build a modern and resilient grid, and rein in explosive growth of dirty data centers and gas power plants to address skyrocketing energy costs, meet growing demand, and tackle climate change. We must do this in a manner that also protects clean air and water, public lands, and states’, tribes’ and communities’ ability to have a say about projects that impact them.”
