Washington, D.C. – In response to the lack of a question about climate change during the sixth Republican debate hosted by the Fox Business Network, LCV National Press Secretary Seth Stein issued the following statement:
“Yet again, the debate moderators did the American people a huge disservice by not asking the candidates about climate change. Whoever steps into the White House in 2017 will choose whether to build upon or dismantle President Obama’s historic legacy of combating climate change, including the creation of the Clean Power Plan, investment in renewable energy, and negotiating the international climate agreement in Paris. The American people – including Republican primary voters – agree that we need action on climate, and they deserve to know how all the candidates will meet this challenge.”
