LCV Victory Fund and Partners Announce $1.8 Million Investment in GA Runoff

Nov 17, 2022

Atlanta, GA – LCV Victory Fund and the New American Jobs Fund, a joint effort of LCV Victory Fund and the United Steelworkers (USW Works), announced today that the groups are investing $1.8 million in support of Sen. Raphael Warnock in the December 6 Georgia Senate runoff. Warnock’s opponent Herschel Walker is a member of LCVVF’s 2022 Dirty Dozen list of the worst anti-environmental, anti-democracy candidates.

LCVVF is standing up a major field program with new offices in Lawrenceville and Smyrna, as well as running digital advertising targeted at climate voters. Additionally, Family Friendly Action PAC, with support from the New American Jobs Fund, a joint effort of LCV Victory Fund and the United Steelworkers (USW Works), has re-started their canvassing operation out of the Marietta field office from the General Election.

“Herschel Walker is an anti-environment serial liar making nonsensical remarks about climate on the campaign trail while Senator Raphael Warnock is helping bring multi-billion dollar job-creating electric car plants and other clean energy jobs to Georgia. The choice for Georgia voters couldn’t be more clear,” said Pete Maysmith, LCV Victory Fund SVP of Campaigns. “As we’ve seen over the last week, when climate voters turn out, we win – that’s why we’re standing up a massive field operation and strategic paid media campaign to get out the runoff vote for proven champion Senator Warnock.”

“Sen. Warnock was crucial to passing legislation that will help protect and grow the middle class: from the once-in-a-generation infrastructure investment that is creating good jobs and rebuilding our communities to protections for pensions that will allow millions of workers to retire with dignity. It’s essential that we re-elect him so he can continue his efforts on behalf of working families,” said USW International Vice President Roxanne Brown

LCVVF organizers will knock 105,000 doors in the coming weeks in key Atlanta suburbs to ensure target voters understand Warnock’s record on climate, jobs, and justice, and know how, when and where to cast their vote by December 6.

At the same time, a subset of low turnout voters who are highly motivated by climate messaging will be served digital ads over the next three weeks. The paid media in the Georgia runoff is an extension of LCV Victory Fund and Climate Power Action’s Climate Voters Mobilization campaign during the 2022 General Election.

It’s clear that LCV Victory Fund’s work to mobilize climate voters, support climate champions, and highlight the extremist records of opponents has already played a decisive role in the midterms. LCVVF’s massive Nevada field organizing operation helped provide the needed margin in the extremely close Nevada Senate race. Against the odds, climate voters showed up big time in race after race, and in the vast majority of cases climate champions won up and down the ballot – now it comes down to Georgia.

“Again”
It all comes down to Georgia…again
Raphael Warnock’s the guy who delivered on the bill
That expands solar and wind energy, cleaning up the air,
lowering energy costs for families and creating American jobs
Warnock can do even more, but only if Georgians show up and send him back to the Senate.
No pressure…
But your vote now can help decide their future
And we’re all counting on you
All of us
Vote Raphael Warnock in the runoff by December 6th
