Washington, D.C.– Today, LCV Victory Fund announced a new ad program that includes North Carolina’s 11th District highlighting Republican Congressman Chuck Edwards’ votes to cut clean energy that raised rates across North Carolina. The ads will be targeted to reach “Energy Bill Voters,” a key voting bloc hit particularly hard by energy price increases that LCV Victory Fund seeks to mobilize heading toward this November’s critical midterm election. This is the earliest LCV Victory Fund has ever invested in House races, highlighting the egregious votes Edwards has taken and the impact it has had on voters in his district. The ads will launch on TV, digital, and streaming platforms.

Voters in Western North Carolina have felt the impact of these costs and are making their voices heard:
“I worked hard my whole life, paid my bills, and did everything right. Now that I’m living on a fixed income, every power bill increase means something else has to give.”
Betty Robinson, NC-11 resident
Since President Trump took office, energy costs have risen 18% nationwide and have continued to get worse for North Carolinians. Recent polling shows that 35% of all voters, and 51% of undecided voters placed the cost of utilities, like electricity and heating “as their most important issue in deciding who to vote for in Congressional elections.”
At the same time, the number of voters blaming high energy costs on Trump and Congressional Republicans’ cancellation of clean energy projects has already risen 5% in the first half of 2026 alone.
Despite the popularity of clean energy resources and projects, the Trump Administration and Republicans like Rep. Edwards have continued to roll back clean energy projects that help lower costs and protect the health and safety of our communities. The pain of these choices is being felt across all the districts LCVVF is targeting. In North Carolina, the Trump Administration and Congressman Edwards are determined to kill local clean energy projects. Since Trump’s election, his attacks on clean energy, alongside Rep. Edwards, have led to the cancellation or delay of 10,135 jobs and $2.44 billion of investment in North Carolina.
You see what I’m holding here? This is my utility bill.
$350, $350!
Last year, it was 160.
That’s on top of groceries and everything else.
I hope you are hearing me, Congressman Chuck Edwards.
Your votes to cut our clean energy supply made our utility rates go up.
Why?
So you can give billionaires another tax cut. I’ve got 4 kids.
Congressman Edwards, your votes are crushing us.
