Madison, WI — LCV Victory Fund today launched a new digital ad campaign in support of Joe Biden for president featuring a testimonial from Tia Nelson, daughter of former Wisconsin Governor, U.S. Senator, and founder of Earth Day, Gaylord Nelson.
WATCH: “My Dad and Joe Biden”
Then-Senator Nelson came up with the idea for the first Earth Day in 1970 and millions took part in events and demonstrations. Over 50 years later, Nelson’s daughter Tia is continuing her father’s legacy in an endorsement of climate and environmental justice champion Joe Biden for president.
In the new ad, Tia says, “My father and Joe Biden served together. And they shared the unshakeable belief that every American has the right to clean air and drinkable water. As president, Joe Biden will work tirelessly to tackle our climate crisis. Four more years of this administration puts our common future at risk. I know Wisconsin can trust Joe Biden to lead on the environment.”
“Vice President Biden will listen to scientists and experts, make the largest-ever investment to combat climate change, address environmental injustice, and create 10 million good-paying jobs — that’s the leadership our country needs,” said Emily Crerand, National Campaigns Director, LCV Victory Fund. “Wisconsin should listen to Tia. She knows what an environmental champion looks like.”
The new Wisconsin ad is part of LCV Victory Fund and affiliated entities’ historic $100 million investment to defeat Trump, elect Joe Biden the next president of the United States, and elect climate and environmental justice champions up and down the ballot.
