Washington, D.C.– Today, Climate Power and the League of Conservation Voters launched a new joint national ad campaign urging members of Congress to vote no on the Republican Rate Hike included in the congressional reconciliation bill.

The new ad, titled Only Getting Worse, highlights the ways the Big Ugly Bill will make everything more expensive, including health insurance and utility bills. The $500K ad buy, going up today, will initially run in DC as well as in the following House districts: AZ-06, CO-08, IA-01, GA-01, OH-15, and PA-01.

“They promised to bring down costs. It’s only getting worse,” says the narrator in the ad. “First it was those tariffs. Now Republicans in Congress plan to cut Medicaid. Increasing medical costs for millions. And cut our energy production creating an energy shortage that increases electricity rates for everyone–all while blowing a four trillion dollar hole in our deficit. It’s a lot of broken promises. And now for us, it’s lots of higher prices. It’s time to kill this bill.”

Climate Power and the League of Conservation Voters also released a memo today outlining how Congressional Republicans should expect fierce backlash from their constituents if they support the legislation.
