BINGHAMTON, NY — The League of Conservation Voters Action Fund and the New York League of Conservation Voters announced their joint endorsement of Kim Myers for Congressional District 22.

“Kim Myers is putting clean energy and climate issues front and center on her campaign, and we know she will continue to be outspoken on these critical issues in Congress,” said LCV Action Fund President Gene Karpinski. “As a successful businesswoman and local elected official, Myers brings critical experience and perspective on how we can protect New York’s environment and grow the clean energy economy.”

“New York’s 22nd Congressional District has the potential to realize a bright and environmentally sound future. Kim Myers has demonstrated she knows how to get us there and that she also has to experience and skills to get things done. We are proud to endorse Kim Myers for election to Congress, and we encourage anyone who wants to see continued growth toward a healthier and more resilient Central New York and Southern Tier to vote for Kim Myers on November 8th,” said Marcia Bystryn, president of the New York League of Conservation Voters.

“I am so proud to get this endorsement from the New York League of Conservation Voter and LCV Action Fund,” said Kim Myers. “They understand my commitment to the people of the 22nd Congressional district, that we need to keep our air and water clean and healthy, that we can move toward creative energy solutions and still create jobs, and that I’ll show up to work with Republicans and Democrats to do the right thing.”

As a current Broome County Legislator, Kim Myers has worked to bring green jobs to the Southern Tier, while protecting and supporting family farms. County Legislator Myers is committed to investing in renewable energy research and development to help transition from fossil fuels to wind, solar, and geothermal energy. Furthermore, she has pledged her support to legislation that mandates that federal government prioritize clean energy options in all contracts and procurement and reduce its own energy output in the coming decades. She also supports efforts to ensure 25% of federal agency use is from renewable resources by 2025.
