FY20 Energy, Water, and other Departments Funding Bill

House Roll Call Vote 367

2019

Pro-environment vote

Yes

Representative DeLauro (D-CT) sponsored H.R. 2740, the Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, Defense, State, Foreign Operations, and Energy and Water Development Appropriations Act, 2020, which would reject the Trump Administration’s irresponsible budget cuts and increase investments to fight climate change and boost clean energy. The Energy and Water division of H.R. 2740 rightly focuses on using the federal government’s resources to help fight climate change. The bill’s significant increases for renewable energy, energy efficiency, and scientific research respond to rising concerns about climate change and support for action to address the crisis. H.R. 2740 is a strong rebuke of the Trump Administration’s denial of the climate crisis, efforts to undermine progress, and ill-conceived decision to become the only country in the world to reject the landmark Paris Climate Agreement. On June 19, the House approved H.R. 2740 by a vote of 226-203 (House roll call vote 367).  YES IS THE PRO-ENVIRONMENT VOTE. The Senate has not yet considered H.R. 2740 or a companion funding bill.
