Washington, D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect pro-environment candidates, announced today its endorsement of Representative Donald McEachin for re-election to the U.S. House from Virginia’s 4th Congressional District.

“Congressman Donald McEachin has a proven track record fighting for environmental justice and has been a visionary in Congress,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “His leadership and voice in this movement is needed now more than ever because he understands that the climate crisis requires bold action, and we are proud to support him for re-election.”

“I am so pleased and proud to receive the endorsement of the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund. Addressing climate change and improving our environment is my true passion and LCV has been a dedicated partner in this critical work,” said Congressman Donald McEachin. “LCV always provides me with important information, comprehensive advice and helpful suggestions. I look forward to continuing our partnership for many years to come as we work towards a healthier earth for our children and grandchildren.”

“Addressing the climate crisis and protecting our environment have been top priorities for Congressman Donald McEachin during his many years of service in Virginia’s statehouse and, now, the halls of Congress,” said Virginia League of Conservation Voters Executive Director Michael Town. “He shares our vision for an equitable and just clean energy future in Virginia and we are excited for him to continue being a champion for climate action in Congress.”

Representative Donald McEachin was first elected to Congress in 2016. Since then, he has been selected by his colleagues to serve as co-chair of the House Democratic Environmental Message Team, Whip of the Congressional Black Caucus, co-chair of the Congressional Black Caucus’ Energy, Environment, and Agriculture Task Force, and vice-chair of the Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC). During his first term in Congress, Rep. McEachin co-founded the United for Climate and Environmental Justice Congressional Task Force and continues to lead the task force as a co-chair.

Rep. McEachin represents his constituents, and the Commonwealth of Virginia, as a member of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce (E&C), the House Committee on Natural Resources (Natural Resources), and the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis. As a member of E&C, McEachin sits on the Environment and Climate Change, the Communications and Technology, and the Energy subcommittees. As a member of Natural Resources, McEachin sits on the Energy and Mineral Resources as well as the Oversight and Investigations subcommittees. He has sponsored numerous environmental bills including the 100% Clean Economy Act of 2019, the landmark Environmental Justice for All Act, the Clean Water Infrastructure Act, and the Healthy Environment for Children Act.
