Lansing, Michigan — LCV Victory Fund today announced a $355,000 TV ad in Michigan’s 8th congressional district. The ad, which will run in the Lansing market through Election Day, shows how Rep. Mike Bishop has voted to allow polluters to spew toxins into our air. Bishop has earned a failing 5 percent lifetime score from the League of Conservation Voters, meaning he has voted against protections for Michigan’s air, lakes and lands nearly every single time.

“There’s no disguising Mike Bishop’s environmental record — he’s voted with polluters and against clean air and water nearly every single time,” said Pete Maysmith, LCV Victory Fund Senior Vice President for Campaigns. “Michigan deserves better than someone who cares more about the corporate special interests who fund his campaigns than his constituents.”

Bishop has taken over $2 million in contributions from corporate PACS while voting to loosen protections against pollution, including voting to allow companies to dump coal waste into streams and to slash funding for the EPA. This year alone, Bishop has voted for every single one of Trump and Congress’ environmental attacks.
