Washington, D.C. — The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) congratulates Senator Cory Booker, Representatives Donald Norcross (NJ-01), Herb Conaway (NJ-03), Nellie Pou (NJ-09), LaMonica McIver (NJ-10), and Analilia Mejia (NJ-11), and Representative-elect Rebecca Bennett (NJ-07) on their wins in New Jersey.
“New Jersey voters chose leaders who will fight for cleaner air and water, lower energy costs, and healthier communities across the state,” said LCV President Pete Maysmith. “Senator Booker and this incredible House slate of climate champions understand that families should not have to choose between paying their utility bills and protecting the health of their communities and the state does not have to choose between safeguarding air, land, and water and good family-sustaining jobs. We congratulate them on their victories and look forward to working together to hold the corrupt Trump administration and Big Polluters accountable, advance affordable clean energy solutions, and protect our environment and democracy.”
This year LCV launched a new field program, Clean Energy Corps, to mobilize voters in support of pro-environment, pro-democracy candidates and work alongside campaigns in battleground states, including Rebecca Bennett in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District. Clean Energy Corps organizers are working as part of a program knocking on over 160,000 doors across three high-priority congressional districts.
Environmental donors contributed $476,000 to New Jersey candidates via GiveGreen. GiveGreen — a partnership between LCV Victory Fund and NRDC Action Votes that helps grassroots donors directly contribute to pro-environment candidates — raised $28.8 million for the 2026 cycle.
These are just some of the climate champions who won up and down the ballot in New Jersey, reaffirming that addressing the climate crisis and affordable clean energy solutions are winning issues for voters.
