WASHINGTON, D.C. – In response to President Obama vetoing the Congressional Review Act “Resolution of Disapproval” of the EPA and Army Corps’ Clean Water Rule, LCV President Gene Karpinski issued the following statement:

“President Obama was right to swiftly veto this radical attack on the Clean Water Rule, protecting the clean water of Americans across the country. It’s outrageous that he had to take this step at all given that the Clean Water Rule enjoys overwhelming public support because it restores critical safeguards for the water our children and grandchildren drink, swim and play in. It’s well past time for Congress to move on and stop putting the profits of Big Polluters ahead of the health of our families.”
