WASHINGTON, DC—The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) last month launched a grassroots program, GreenRoots, to mobilize its members as volunteers for Hillary Clinton ahead of the Iowa caucus and the New Hampshire primary. GreenRoots has 24 staff and has engaged more than 150 LCV members, 65 percent of whom have completed more than one volunteer shift for Hillary for America. LCV members have completed more than 550 shifts, and LCV members have already contacted at least 17,400 voters.

“LCV’s GreenRoots program is thrilled to be recruiting our members to volunteer for Hillary in Iowa and New Hampshire,” said LCV Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “It’s clear that LCV members in both states are eager to help elect Hillary Clinton – a proven environmental leader who will stand up to Big Polluters, fight the climate crisis, and build a clean energy economy from day one as president.”

“In New Hampshire, our members are really fired-up for Hillary,” said LCV New Hampshire State Director Rob Werner. “LCV members are doing everything they can for Hillary, including taking a leadership role in hosting phone banks, attending events and knocking on doors.”

“In Iowa, we are seeing our members come back again and again to help Hillary win in just a few days,” said LCV Iowa Field Director Tim Mahern-Macias. “It’s great to see our members committed and energized about Hillary.”

Earlier this month, the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) released a new digital ad in support of Hillary Clinton for president that contrasts Clinton’s leadership on climate change with climate science deniers as exemplified by Donald Trump.

In November, LCV Action Fund endorsed Hillary Clinton for president—its earliest endorsement of a presidential candidate in the history of the organization and the first endorsement ever made before any votes are cast.
