Washington, D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will support sound environmental policies, announced today its endorsement of Carolyn Bourdeaux for Congress in Georgia’s 7th District.

“Carolyn Bourdeaux is committed to investing in our clean energy future,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “We are proud to endorse her campaign because Georgians in the 7th district deserve a voice in Congress who will fight for clean air, clean water, and healthy communities.”

“I am deeply concerned about climate change, clean air, and clean water,” said Carolyn Bourdeaux. “I am proud to fight alongside the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund for a cleaner environment and a better planet. We must leave a healthy environment for our kids, their kids and future generations.”

Carolyn Bourdeaux earned her Bachelor’s degree from Yale University, a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Southern California, and a PhD in public administration from Syracuse University. She became a Professor at Georgia State University’s Andrew Young School of Public Policy in 2003 and went on to served as the Director of Georgia’s Senate Budget and Evaluation Office. She returned to the Andrew Young School in 2011 and founded the Center for State and Local Finance. In Congress she will focus on investments in clean energy technology and next generation infrastructure.

About LCV Action Fund

The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, the connected federal political action committee (PAC) of the League of Conservation Voters, works to elect candidates who will implement sound environmental laws and policies, and defeat those who stand in the way of progress. Since the 1994 election cycle, LCVAF has helped elect and re-elect 74 U.S. senators and 331 members of the U.S. House of Representatives. Over the last several years, our efforts have also helped elevate climate change and clean energy as critical issues in key elections.
