Washington, D.C. – In response to President Biden’s speech today at the White House celebrating the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, the League of Conservation Voters issued the following statement from LCV Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld:

“As President Biden said ‘We’re going to take the most aggressive action ever ever ever to confront the climate crisis and increase our energy security.’ Today is a celebration of every climate activist, champion in Congress, and the broad coalition that worked tirelessly to get the historic climate investments included in the Inflation Reduction Act across the finish line. We appreciate President Biden and Vice President Harris’ steadfast leadership in making climate action a national priority and helping secure critical investments in clean energy that will bring our nation one step closer to its climate goals, boost jobs, reduce energy costs for everyday families, and help protect the health of frontline communities overburdened by environmental injustices. In the moments where the prospects for this bill seemed dim, climate activists and Congressional champions fought like hell for climate action.
