Washington D.C. – LCV Victory Fund congratulates Jared Golden on his election to represent Maine’s 2nd congressional district and Angus King on his reelection to the U.S. Senate. LCV Victory Fund invested more than $400,000 in the congressional race.

“We are thrilled that Mainers decided to re-elect one longtime climate champion and send another environmental leader to Congress for the first time,” said Gene Karpinski, LCV President. “We know they are all in to fight climate change and protect Maine’s unique economy and way of life for generations to come.”

LCV Victory Fund ran a TV ad in the 2nd congressional district showcasing incumbent Bruce Poliquin’s history of prioritizing special interests over public health.

In the Senate race, Eric Brakey was named to the notorious Dirty Dozen due to his hostility toward public lands and clean energy initiatives during his time in the state legislature.

LCV Action Fund endorsed King and Golden because of their commitments to combating climate change and protecting Maine’s spectacular public lands.

Additionally, Maine Conservation Voters Action Fund invested more than $1.4 million to elect Janet Mills governor.
