Re: Weekly LCV Victory Fund Update

Last week, we
announced that LCV Victory Fund and affiliated entities, including LCV’s network of state affiliates, will invest over $115 million this election cycle (up from $100 million) because our rights to breathe clean air, drink clean water, and live in safe and healthy communities are at risk. We are two weeks out from Election Day and over 31 million voters have cast ballots so far. Unprecedented times call for unprecedented measures and LCV Victory Fund is not leaving anything to chance in these final weeks.

Field Updates – LCV Victory Fund GOTV Program

This week:

  • LCV Victory Fund is expanding its GOTV program from our initial plan of $10 million to a $13.6 million program across Alaska, Arizona, Florida, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, Montana, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Wisconsin, to educate and mobilize voters to vote for Biden-Harris and their pro-environment Senate candidates.

    • Expansion efforts include increasing our call and mail programs in key Senate battlegrounds like Montana, Iowa and South Carolina.
  • In-person early voting has begun in many of our states and our call program is focused on ensuring voters have the information they need about how they can vote.
  • Since our last update:

    • We have two new GOTV digital ads running in Florida in partnership with NextGen America to mobilize young voters, “We Deserve Better” and “Aspirational.”
    • We just started our second flight of GOTV digital ads in North Carolina, you can check out our new spot here.
    • We expanded our ballot curing work into Maine. Our field team is now contacting Maine voters (via phone and text) whose ballots have been rejected in order to assist them with the process of curing their ballots to ensure their votes count. Our ballot curing efforts in Florida are ongoing as well.
    • Our GOTV mailers continue to drop across all states, including “On The Ballot,” which dropped in Iowa earlier this week, and “Essential,” a joint piece with Somos PAC that dropped in Florida.
    • We have added Alaska to our list of states where we are doing GOTV digital ads and will launch ads there in the coming days.

Results to date:

  • Almost 6 million get out the vote calls
  • Over 141,000 individual conversations with our targeted voters
  • Of the voters we’ve spoken with over the phone, 78% committed to vote by any method and 56% committed to vote by mail

Our GOTV mail, digital, and field programs in North Carolina and Michigan are part of the New American Jobs Fund, a partnership with United Steelworkers (USW).
