IRA project: First Solar manufacturing facility in Iberia Parish, LA.

Representative Clay Higgins (LA-3) has made it very clear he is “100% opposed to the monstrosity of a bill” that is the IRA and vowed to “use every mechanism at [his] disposal” to stop it. Despite this seemingly hard line stance, Higgins isn’t turning away investments that the legislation has spurred in his district, particularly in the form of a First Solar manufacturing facility. In response to First Solar’s announcement that they would be coming to LA-3, Higgins offered his support for the project he is now praising as an “economic opportunity for South Louisiana.”
