Kevin Mullin is a business owner who has served his community for over a decade as a member of the California Assembly.

Mullin attended the University of San Francisco and received a Master of Public Administration from San Francisco State University. Mullin is the founder of KM2 Communications, a multimedia production business in South San Francisco. Mullin also served as district director to former U.S. Representative Jackie Speier and as political director for his father, Assemblymember Gene Mullin. In 2007, Mullin was elected to the South San Francisco City Council and served as mayor in 2011. In 2014, he was elected to the California State Assembly where he made voting rights and strengthening our democracy his top priorities, authoring the first-in-the-nation DISCLOSE Act to put a stop to “dark money” in politics, passing universal vote-by-mail so every voter receives a paper ballot postage paid, and co-authoring the landmark law automatically registering Californians to vote.

As a representative, Mullin will prioritize bold climate legislation to safeguard our planet for future generations and reduce emissions while providing good-paying, middle-class, union jobs.

Mullin joins the U.S. House to fill the seat of retiring Representative Jackie Speier, who earned a 92% lifetime score on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.

In his own words:

“In Congress, I will build on my Golden State accomplishments and prioritize bold climate action like the proposed Green New Deal to safeguard our planet for future generations and reduce emissions while also strengthening the American workforce with good-paying, middle-class, union jobs in the clean energy sector.”
