Washington, D.C.—The League of Conservation Voters joined the Women’s March on Washington today as an official partner. Hundreds of thousands of women and men will march on January 21st to make it clear to the Trump Administration that we stand together to protect women’s rights, civil rights and to safeguard our environment.
“We are proud to participate in the Women’s March on Washington –it’s our rights, our planet, our future on the line,” said LCV President Gene Karpinski. “We thank the co-chairs for making this march a reality as it offers a place come together and send a strong message to the incoming Trump Administration that clean air, clean water, public health protections and access to our open spaces are everyone’s right and must be a top priority. Environmental issues are women’s issues, and women’s issues are environmental issues. LCV will fight every step of the way to defend both our bedrock environmental laws and recent progress on climate change and so many other issues while ensuring we leave our children and grandchildren safer communities and a cleaner, healthier planet.”
