Democratic Candidates Discuss Climate Change during CNN Debate

Oct 13, 2015

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Tonight, at the first Democratic Presidential debate hosted by CNN, the candidates spoke about climate change and environmental protection. In response, LCV Senior Vice President of Campaigns Daniel J. Weiss issued the following statement:

“The conversation we heard tonight about climate change and environmental protection could not have been more different than what we’ve heard from the GOP field. Instead of shirking their responsibility to act on climate, or denying the scientific consensus of global climate change, there were thoughtful responses on facing this challenge head on. The candidates exhibited an optimistic, can-do spirit that we can address this challenge. With international climate talks in Paris around the corner, it is essential that the conversation be about climate action rather than inaction.”
