Washington, D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will support sound environmental policies, announced today its endorsement of Representative Ruben Gallego for re-election in Arizona’s 7th Congressional District.

“Representative Gallego has quickly emerged as one of the strongest voices for public lands and climate action in Congress,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld.  “His most recent efforts to protect Bears Ears National Monument demonstrates his continued leadership on conservation for local communities that rely on the outdoor recreation economy.  Having champions like him in Congress is more important than ever, and we are proud to endorse Representative Gallego for re-election.”

“We need LCV more than ever as we fight Trump’s daily assaults against our environment. I’m proud to be endorsed by LCV Action Fund and will continue to fight alongside them every day to preserve public lands and demand climate action,” said Representative Gallego.

Representative Ruben Gallego is running for his third term representing Arizona’s 7th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. A member of the House Committee on Natural Resources, Gallego has been on the front lines of fighting against the environmental attacks being waged by the Trump Administration and the House Republican leadership. He has led on legislation to address the climate crisis and create clean energy jobs, and he has advocated for protecting our coasts from offshore drilling. Representative Gallego has also worked to conserve some of America’s most important natural treasures, including introducing legislation with 100 cosponsors to protect and expand the Bears Ears National Monument.

Representative Gallego is featured on LCV Action Fund’s GiveGreen website, the only website devoted exclusively to raising money for environmental champions for federal office. Last cycle, LCV Action Fund raised more contributions to candidates through GiveGreen than ever before—over $8.3 million for state and federal candidates.
