Washington D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect pro-environment candidates, announced today the endorsement of John Fetterman for election to the U.S. Senate representing Pennsylvania.
“Lt. Governor John Fetterman understands the importance of lowering costs for families, fighting for environmental justice for all Pennsylvanians and creating high-paying jobs by growing our clean energy economy in the Commonwealth and across the country, ” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “We are excited to endorse his campaign for the U.S. Senate because we know he will fight to hold big polluters accountable and prioritize people over profits. The stakes could not be higher for climate and environmental justice.”
“Conservation Voters Pennsylvania has proudly supported John Fetterman since his successful run for Lieutenant Governor in 2018,” said Conservation Pennsylvania Political Director Katie Blume. “He has always prioritized our communities over profits and special interests and we know he will fight hard to grow our clean energy economy, create good-paying jobs, and achieve environmental justice for all Pennsylvanians.”
“Thank you so much to the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund for your endorsement. I have never taken a dime from the fossil fuel industry, and I never will,” said Lt. Governor John Fetterman. “Climate change is an existential threat. It is an honor to have your support, and together we will eliminate the filibuster and deal with climate change when I am elected as Pennsylvania’s next U.S. Senator.”
In 2005, John Fetterman was elected as Mayor of Braddock where he led the economic revitalization of the city and worked to make green businesses and programs a central focus of that effort. As mayor, he launched a green-jobs summer program for youth, created a green space for the community, and helped to create green jobs by bringing an alternative energy company to town. He was elected lieutenant governor in 2018 and is committed to fighting for climate, justice, jobs, and democracy. Lt. Gov. Fetterman is a strong advocate for climate change, and has testified in front of Congress on behalf of climate change bills.

The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, the connected federal political action committee (PAC) of the League of Conservation Voters, works to elect leaders who stand up for a clean, healthy environment and to defeat anti-environment candidates who oppose climate action. Since the 1990 election cycle, LCVAF has helped elect and re-elect 95 U.S. Senators and 462 members of the U.S. House of Representatives. Over the last several years, our efforts have also helped elevate climate change and clean energy as critical issues in key elections.
