LCV Action Fund Endorses Brad Ashford for Congress

Oct 28, 2014

WASHINGTON, DC—The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will implement sound environmental policies, announced today its endorsement of Brad Ashford for Congress (NE-2). Ashford will work to safeguard our environment and support the expansion of our clean energy economy.

“Brad Ashford will work to protect our environment and grow our clean energy industries in Nebraska and across the country,” said LCV Action Fund President Gene Karpinski. “He will support commonsense policies that protect our natural resources, including Nebraska’s ranches, farm land and drinking water.”

“While in the State Legislature, Senator Ashford has worked hard to protect Nebraska’s environment and natural resources for generations to come,” said Eliot Bostar, Executive Director of the Nebraska League of Conservation Voters. “He has always stood up for the people of Nebraska and he will continue this work in Congress by supporting bipartisan policies that create jobs and safeguard our planet.”

“I’m honored to be endorsed by the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund because I have always fought tirelessly to protect our environment and conserve our natural resources with commonsense policies that consider the impact to our businesses and our communities,” said Ashford. “I promise to always apply that same commonsense approach in Washington.”

Ashford is committed to protecting Nebraska’s natural resources and the vibrant economy that they support. As a state legislator, Ashford voted to authorize an environmental study of the proposed route for the Keystone XL Pipeline. He also supports the clean energy tax credits that have encouraged the wind and solar industries to bring clean energy and good jobs to Nebraska.
