Washington, D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will support sound environmental policies, announced today its endorsement of Dr. Kim Schrier for Congress in Washington’s 8th District.

“As a pediatrician, Kim Schrier knows firsthand how essential clean air and water are to the health of our kids and our communities,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “We are proud to endorse her campaign because we need more leaders like her in Washington who will prioritize public health over polluter profits.”

“Kim Schrier is committed to protecting access to Washington’s spectacular public lands,” said Washington Conservation Voters President Shannon Murphy. “She will champion common sense action to address climate pollution and invest in communities that are dealing with its harmful effects. We look forward to working with her in Congress as we build a healthy and sustainable Washington for all.”

“Combating climate change is the greatest issue of our time,” said Dr. Kim Schrier. “In Congress I will stand with LCV to protect our environment and create a better world for my patients and children like them across the country. This includes ensuring they have clean air to breathe, clean water to drink, and full access to our treasured public lands.”

Dr. Kim Schrier has spent the past 16 years building her pediatrics practice in the 8th Congressional District. After finishing her residency in pediatrics and working in Ashland, Oregon, she took a job with the Virginia Mason Issaquah Medical Center in Washington. Kim Schrier graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in astrophysics and earned her medical degree from UC Davis School of Medicine.
