WASHINGTON, DC—The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will implement sound environmental policies, announced today its endorsement of Gwen Graham for Congress (FL-2). Graham will safeguard our environment and grow our clean energy economy.
“Gwen Graham will work to create bipartisan solutions that invest in clean energy jobs and protect our planet for future generations,” said LCV Action Fund President Gene Karpinski. “She will support efforts to safeguard the open spaces and precious waterways that are vital to Florida’s economy, including the Apalachicola River and Bay system as well as miles of coastline.”
“I am honored to have the support of the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund in my race to bring the North Florida Way back to Congress,” said Graham. “I understand how essential it is to protect our natural resources, because like most Floridians that grew up playing on beaches and in rivers, I want to always be able to take my kids–and one day my grandkids–out on the water. North Florida treasures like Wakulla Springs, the Apalachicola River, and St. Andrews Bay support thousands of jobs and numerous local industries. We have to protect our rivers, lakes, wetlands and coastal regions to support our local agriculture and aquaculture industries while continuing to promote new industries like eco-tourism. By working together, I’m sure that we can achieve both.”
Graham will fight to protect the natural treasures, like the miles of coastline lining Florida’s 2nd district and the Apalachicola River and Bay system, because she recognizes the important role they have on the state’s economy and way of life. She will support commonsense solutions that safeguard our air and open spaces. Graham will also strive to spur economic growth supporting efforts to expand clean energy industries.
