Washington D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect pro-environment candidates, announced today the endorsement of Joyce Beatty for reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives from Ohio’s 3rd Congressional District.

“Representative Joyce Beatty has helped lead the fight to tackle the climate crisis and address environmental justice issues that prioritize the health and well-being of communities over polluter profits,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “We could not be more excited to support her campaign for Congress because we know that Rep. Beatty will bring her extensive experience fighting for our environment to pass strong climate and democracy legislation that will benefit all communities.”

“I am proud to have the support and endorsement of the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund,” said Rep. Joyce Beatty (OH-03). “Our climate has a direct impact on the health and safety of our communities.  That is why I will always fight to address the climate crisis and in support of environmental justice. I am proud to have LCV Action Fund’s support in this fight.”

Rep. Joyce Beatty was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2012. As Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, Rep. Beatty has been an important leader in the work to pass historic investments in climate, jobs, and environmental justice. She has also been a leader on issues of racial justice and protecting voting rights, including co-sponsoring all four of LCV’s priority democracy bills: H.R. 1, H.R. 4, H.R. 51 and the Protecting Our Democracy Act. She has supported other pro-environment bills including the Environmental Justice For All Act and the Clean Water for All Act.

Since the 1990 election cycle, LCVAF has helped elect and re-elect 95 U.S. Senators and 462 members of the U.S. House of Representatives. Over the last several years, our efforts have also helped elevate climate change and clean energy as critical issues in key elections.
