LCV Action Fund Endorses Mark Warner for U.S. Senate

Dec 9, 2025

Washington D.C. – Today the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will fight to lower energy costs, build a clean energy economy, and strengthen our democracy for all, announced the endorsement of Mark Warner for re-election to the U.S. Senate representing Virginia.

“Senator Mark Warner is fighting for a clean energy future and to protect the health and safety of our communities, while the Trump administration continues their attacks on our environment, government institutions and clean energy, raising utility costs for families,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “It has never been more critical for members of Congress to stand up for our democracy, our rights, and our climate, and LCVAF is all in to support Senator Warner for re-election.”

“I’m honored to earn the endorsement of the LCV Action Fund. I’m proud of my work negotiating the bipartisan infrastructure law and enacting the Inflation Reduction Act, both of which are delivering cleaner, more affordable energy,” said Senator Mark Warner. “At a time when our country urgently needs more electricity, the Trump administration’s decision to cancel projects funded by these laws is driving costs up for families. I’m committed to working with partners like LCVAF to hold this administration accountable and repair the damage being done to our energy future and our environment.”

About Mark Warner
Senator Mark Warner has supported the expansion of clean energy technologies and, as governor, introduced legislation that would have provided grants that would have rewarded states that produced the largest gains in energy efficiency. He has served as a board member of Alliance to Save Energy, which is promoting new ways to make our current energy usage more efficient, and has co-sponsored legislation to provide incentives to help homeowners make their houses more energy efficient. Warner firmly believes that we need to reduce our dependence on foreign oil while investing in new technologies that reduce harmful emissions that contribute to climate change, and investment in research that focuses on green technology so we can continue to use our domestic resources more responsibly. Additionally, with Senator Kaine, he also introduced the Chesapeake Bay Accountability and Recovery Act to bring increased accountability and more collaborative management to efforts to restore the Bay. Senator Warner has earned a lifetime score of 92% on the LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.
