WASHINGTON, DC— The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect candidates who will implement sound environmental policies, announced today its endorsement of Michelle Nunn for U.S. Senate from Georgia. Nunn will support commonsense solutions that protect our environment, grow our clean energy economy and preserve our air, water and public lands.
“Michelle Nunn will work across the aisle to create jobs, expand our clean energy economy and protect our environment for generations to come,” said LCV Action Fund President Gene Karpinski. “She is committed to conserving our iconic landscapes and protecting wildlife while working to safeguard public health by improving the quality of our air and water.”
“I’m honored and grateful to have earned the endorsement of the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund,” said Nunn. “Throughout my career in the service sector, I’ve been proud to mobilize volunteers to participate in citizen-led conservation efforts to protect our natural heritage. Georgians want leaders who will create jobs in renewable energy that can’t be outsourced and who will protect Georgia’s natural landscapes with common sense and a collaborative spirit.”
Nunn believes we have a moral obligation to tackle climate change and is committed to protecting our planet for future generations, which includes reducing carbon pollution and investing in our clean energy and energy efficiency industries. She supports efforts to make America a leader in clean energy and supports renewable energy tax incentives and investing in research and development through public-private partnerships, all of which will create jobs and reduce our reliance on oil. Nunn will work to protect the air we breathe and the water we drink and conserve our nation’s public lands, including expanding the Ocmulgee National Monument.
