Washington, D.C. – Today, Hillary Clinton was announced as the winner of the 2016 Democratic presidential primary in New York.

“Congratulations to Hillary on another huge win in this primary!” said LCV president Gene Karpinski. “Last week, LCV outlined why we believe Hillary is the environmental champion who should be the next president, which she ably demonstrated by unveiling her plan to address environmental injustice.

“New York Democratic voters chose the candidate who represented them in the Senate because she has the smart, thoughtful policies that we need in the White House. Voters tonight and in upcoming contests know that she will stand up to Republican climate deniers Ted Cruz and tonight’s winner, Donald Trump.”
