Washington, D.C. – Today, Hillary Clinton was announced as the winner of the 2016 Democratic presidential primary in South Carolina.
“We are thrilled to congratulate Hillary on yet another win in the Democratic primary,” said LCV President Gene Karpinski. “The people of South Carolina recognize that she will continue to be a leader in the fight against climate change, which threatens South Carolina’s valuable tourism industry, and stand up for environmental justice for Flint and vulnerable communities across the country. Last month, we released a digital ad in support of her campaign that contrasts Clinton’s leadership on climate with the climate denialism too prevalent in the Republican field, as exemplified by South Carolina Republican winner and frontrunner Donald Trump.”
In November, LCV Action Fund endorsed Hillary Clinton for president—its earliest endorsement of a presidential candidate in the history of the organization and the first endorsement ever made before any votes are cast.
