Washington, D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) congratulates Representative Sharice Davids (KS-03) on her re-election victory.
“Kansas voters overwhelmingly voted for their fundamental rights earlier this fall, and tonight, voted to re-elect environmental champion Representative Sharice Davids,” said LCV President Gene Karpinski. “LCV is thrilled to fight alongside Representative Davids to hold polluters accountable, create more good-paying, clean energy jobs, address environmental injustices, and build a clean energy future for communities across Kansas and the country.”
LCV Victory Fund named Rep. Sharice Davids’ opponent Amanda Adkins to the Dirty Dozen and invested nearly $700,000 to re-elect Rep. Davids over Adkins. The spending included digital ads and mail as part of the Climate Voters Mobilization program with Climate Power Action. In addition, LCV Victory Fund ran the ad, “Fits Right In,” on broadcast, cable, and OTT.
Environmental donors contributed nearly $180,000 to Kansas candidates via GiveGreen. GiveGreen — a partnership between LCV Victory Fund and NRDC Action Votes that helps grassroots donors directly contribute to pro-environment candidates — raised a midterm record $26.9 million for the 2022 cycle.
Representative Davids is just one of the climate champions who won up and down the ballot in Kansas, demonstrating that leaning into environmental issues is both good policy and good politics.
