Washington, D.C. — In anticipation of the Senate floor vote on the nomination of Michael Regan to serve as EPA Administrator, the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) and North Carolina League of Conservation Voters (NCLCV) issued the following statements from LCV Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld and NCLCV Director of Governmental Relations Dan Crawford:
“With his strong leadership and collaborative approach, Michael Regan is just the Administrator we need to ensure that the EPA is wildly successful in protecting our health and environment,” said LCV Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “We appreciate Regan’s commitment to advancing climate and environmental policies based on science and centered around justice and equity.”
“Michael Regan knows first-hand how pollution harms our health and quality of life,” said Dan Crawford, NCLCV Director of Governmental Relations. “We’re excited to watch him do for the EPA what he did for North Carolina: put people and policy over politics, and work with scientists, stakeholders, lawmakers of both parties, and above all, the most impacted communities, to protect all Americans from polluters and climate change.”
LCV previously sent a letter from LCV President Gene Karpinski to the U.S. Senate urging senators to support the nomination of Michael Regan for EPA Administrator, adding that this vote will be considered in the 2021 National Environmental Scorecard.
