WASHINGTON, DC – League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld released this statement on efforts in Congress to force approval of the dangerous Keystone XL tar sands pipeline:
“Instead of once again trying to circumvent the process, Congress should get serious about transitioning to a clean energy economy. The Keystone XL pipeline lacks a legal route, clearly fails President Obama’s climate test and threatens our waters while providing no benefits. The final decision should remain right where it’s been all along, with President Obama and Secretary Kerry. We’re confident that at the end of the day they will reject this dirty, dangerous pipeline.”
