WASHINGTON, DC – League of Conservation Voters (LCV) President Gene Karpinski released this statement on President Obama’s announcement this morning on improving the fuel efficiency of American trucks. Karpinski joined President Obama for his announcement, which builds on implementation of the President’s historic Climate Action Plan: 

“The President’s announcement doubles down on his climate legacy and moves forward with implementation of his historic Climate Action Plan. Heavy trucks are the second-highest and fastest-growing source of carbon pollution in the transportation sector. Increasing fuel efficiency for trucks is good for our energy security and our economy, and it will help cut the dangerous carbon pollution that’s causing climate disruption and threatening public health.”
