Washington, D.C. – In response to the final Pennsylvania Senate debate, LCV National Press Secretary Seth Stein issued the following statement:

“Unsurprisingly, Pat Toomey brazenly flaunted his hostility to a clean, renewable energy economy on the debate stage tonight, yet neglected to mention his votes to protect the billions Big Polluters receive in taxpayer handouts. And the oil and gas special interests, including the Koch brothers, have returned the favor, pouring in millions to keep him in office. Toomey hasn’t been representing Pennsylvanians in Congress, he’s been backing Big Polluters; fortunately, voters have a choice, and Katie McGinty made clear that she would fight for a clean energy economy that will create jobs and protect public health.”
