Washington D.C. — Following today’s remarks from President Biden on the American Jobs Plan, the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) issued the following statement from President Gene Karpinski:
“Today, President Biden made clear once again that we can’t afford not to make a once in a generation investment in jobs, justice, and climate action. The American Jobs Plan is the plan we need to get millions of people back to work in new good-paying, union jobs in the clean energy economy while tackling climate change and environmental racism.
“The American Jobs Plan has the backing of labor unions, environmental organizations, environmental justice leaders, businesses, and local leaders from across the country. The majority of voters — Republican, Democratic, and Independent alike — understand what’s at stake and support these investments in infrastructure and clean energy. It’s time for Congress to take up and pass recovery legislation that implements climate solutions, maintains and creates jobs here in the U.S., and propels America forward without leaving any communities behind.”
LCV released this note today highlighting the hypocritical talking points on infrastructure from many Congressional Republicans and this note last week debunking polluter allies’ opposition.
