Washington, DC – In response to Sen. Ted Cruz endorsing Donald Trump for president, and specifically citing his stances on energy and the environment, LCV National Campaigns Director Clay Schroers issued the following statement:

“Trump and Cruz finally found common ground – deep in Big Polluters’ back pockets. To explain his vote for Trump, Cruz cited the GOP nominee’s proposal to fulfill the fossil fuel industry wish list by rolling back decades of clean air and water protections. Trump’s copy-paste plan would be a disaster for our families, threatening public health and accelerating climate change, and his fact-free approach to environmental protection show he completely lacks the knowledge, temperament and character to be president.”
