Washington, DC: In response to the introduction of “fast track” legislation in the Senate to give the administration expedited approval for international trade agreements, the League of Conservation Voters issued the following statement from Legislative Representative Madeleine Foote:
“The public has a right to know what is in these massive trade deals before they are finalized. Trade agreements have enormous implications on environmental protections around the world, and they deserve real debate, a transparent process, and strong enforcement provisions. Unfortunately, this legislation fails to meet those goals.”
