Washington, D.C. – In response to Hillary Clinton becoming the presumptive Democratic nominee for President, LCV President Gene Karpinski issued the following statement:

“We are thrilled to congratulate Hillary on her historic and well-deserved win! We’ve long known that Hillary Clinton is the most effective person to get the job done starting on day one, and she has proved that by talking about her plans to tackle climate change and boost clean energy every day on the campaign trail.  Over and over again Hillary has shown she understands that under President Obama we’ve made more progress on climate in the last nine months than in the last twenty years and that it’s critically important to preserve and build upon that work. We can’t wait to get started on the next phase of this campaign taking on Donald Trump, whose inconsistent and ill-conceived policies would be disastrous for environmental protection.”
