LCV Statement on Passage of House Energy Bill Out of Committee

Sep 30, 2015

WASHINGTON, DC – In response to the passage of the House Energy bill out of the Energy and Commerce Committee, LCV Vice President of Government Affairs Sara Chieffo issued the following statement:

“The House Energy bill that passed out of the Energy & Commerce Committee today marks yet another missed opportunity to combat climate change, reduce carbon pollution, and expand clean energy. The final legislation pushed by extreme members of the committee puts a heavy thumb on the scale for fossil fuels and entrenched polluter interests. We call on Congress to reject this bill and instead debate real solutions that fight climate change and hasten the transition to a clean energy economy.”
