LCV Statement on Rep. Cramer’s Energy Policy Recommendations to Trump in Advance of North Dakota Speech

May 25, 2016

Washington, D.C. – In response to new reports about the contents of Rep. Kevin Cramer’s energy recommendations to Donald Trump in advance of his speech in North Dakota tomorrow, where he is expected to outline his energy proposals, LCV National Press Secretary Seth Stein issued the following statement:

“Rep. Cramer’s recommendations to Trump might as well be titled ‘big polluters first.’ He is echoing Trump’s radical and dangerous goal of severely cutting the EPA and recommending ending their ability to regulate harmful pollution, essentially giving polluters a free pass. Trump’s already poor judgement is amplified by picking Cramer as his energy advisor, who is fully in line with the nominee’s goal of denying the American people the benefits of the Clean Power Plan, threatening our economy and the health of our families, by eliminating clean air and water safeguards at the federal level.”
