WASHINGTON, DC – In response to the Senate Finance Committee passing the Wind Production Tax Credit extension, LCV Vice President of Government Affairs Sara Chieffo issued the following statement: 

“Today’s Senate Finance Committee passage of the tax extenders package underscore that communities all across the country see the benefits of the wind industry and other renewables. The fact that Senator Toomey withdrew his amendment to strip the production tax credit underscores how extreme his position is. That said, many special tax breaks for Big Oil are permanent and our country deserves longer-term certainty around support for renewable energy sources, including both wind and solar.”
