Washington, D.C. — In response to the video of Senator Padilla’s forced removal from Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem’s press conference, the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) issued the following statement from Senior Vice President of Government Affairs, Tiernan Sittenfeld:

“This horrifying show of force against a sitting U.S. Senator in the state he represents is a shocking abuse of power by the Trump administration. These dangerous attacks on our democracy and the freedoms and rights of all people in this country are un-American and fly in the face of the very foundation of our country. We stand with Senator Padilla who was advocating for his constituents, and with those exercising their right to peacefully protest against this administration’s violent and unconstitutional actions.”
