WASHINGTON, DC –League of Conservation Voters President Gene Karpinski released this statement on Senator Richard Blumenthal and Senator Chris Murphy’s leadership during the Senate’s series of all-night speeches pressing for action on climate change:

“We’re thrilled that Senators Blumenthal and Murphy joined with 29 colleagues from across the country to stand up to corporate polluters and give a voice to Connecticut citizens demanding action on climate change. Connecticut is already seeing climate impacts, including sea level rise, less productive fisheries, and decreased maple syrup production. We congratulate Senators Blumenthal and Murphy on their leadership and will continue working with them to push for action to confront the climate crisis.”
