Washington, D.C. – In response to the anticipated passage of the SHARE Act (H.R. 2406) by the House of Representatives, LCV Land Conservation Fellow Andy French issued the following statement:
“Rather than charting a bright future for America’s national parks in their Centennial year, Republican leaders in the House instead passed a bill that would roll back protections for America’s treasured public lands and harm wildlife management efforts across the country. We thank our House allies who opposed this disastrous legislation and are counting on our allies in the Senate to stop this bill in its tracks. While his amendment unfortunately did not pass, we are grateful for Representative Jared Huffman’s efforts to elevate the importance of preserving the coastal plain of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and will continue to advocate for permanent protection of this majestic place.”
