Washington D.C. — On today’s one year anniversary of the designation of the Avi Kwa Ame and Castner Range monuments by the Biden-Harris administration, the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) released the following statement from LCV Conservation Program Director America Fitzpatrick:
“LCV is thrilled to celebrate the one year anniversary of the Avi Kwa Ame and Castner Range national monuments, and we’re proud to congratulate the Biden-Harris administration for working to protect more than 24 million acres of public land in their first term. National monuments are important to communities nationwide and we hope the Biden-Harris administration moves swiftly to designate more national monuments in this critical year, cementing the President’s conservation legacy.”
Earlier this week, LCV organized an art installation to highlight the anniversaries, thank the administration, and urge President Biden to protect more lands.
