Washington, D.C. – In response to the first TV debate in the 2016 Wisconsin Senate race, LCV National Press Secretary Seth Stein issued the following statement:

“Johnson can’t get away from his record of climate denialism and unquestioning support of the Koch brothers agenda, just like he can’t get away from Trump at the top of his ticket. No matter how hard he tried to dance around his support for the Big Polluters’ agenda, the truth is that Johnson’s views on climate change – outright denial backed up by bizarre assertions about sunspots – are as fully outside the mainstream as Trump’s. Russ Feingold, on the other hand, understands the critical need to meet the challenge of climate change by investing in a clean energy economy and embracing the Clean Power Plan, creating jobs and growing Wisconsin’s economy.”
