Washington, D.C. – In response to the conversation about climate change and clean energy during the fourth Democratic primary presidential debate LCV National Press Secretary Seth Stein issued the following statement:

“The NBC debate moderators deserve credit for directly addressing the critical issue of climate change. While it is unfortunate Hillary Clinton did not have a chance to answer the question, we know she is a climate champion with the experience and passion to meet this challenge head-on. And in her comments about the water crisis in Flint, Hillary demonstrated how important the health and safety of our families are to her and her candidacy. Overall, the entire conversation tonight stood in stark contrast to the Republican field, where the candidates continue to deny the urgency of climate change.”
